Job Title:       Marine Electronics Service Technician

Taylor Marine Australia is a leading service provider to the maritime industry in Australia. We are seeking applicants for the role of MARINE ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, to be based in Brisbane, Australia. Your experience with FURUNO marine equipment such as Radars, VDR, ECDIS, MF/HF and Satellite Communication Systems would be advantageous, however for the right candidate, we will consider other brands for relevant experience.

 

Responsibilities

You will be expected to work under limited supervision, have strong problem-solving skills, use manufacturer’s manuals, and use your knowledge of electronic circuit theory to: 

  • Install, repair and maintain marine electronic radio and navigation systems.

  • Inspect and test electronic equipment, components, and assemblies.

  • Perform radio and VDR-APT inspections in according to IMO and Class authorities.

  • Complete company-required service reports and QA documentation.

 

Requirements

Candidates should have formal training, technical diploma / degree or equivalent electronics training and experience acquired in the Deepsea Services industry. Additionally, candidates are also required to have:

  • Good English (written and verbal communication)

  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application

  • Strong computer skills

  • GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License is preferred.

  • Be physically fit and capable of lifting / carrying up to 25kg, able to climb ladders and masts and capable of working at heights.

  • Hold a valid passport and driver’s license.

 

Candidates must be dependable and willing to work a flexible schedule, including overtime. Although most work will be carried out locally, candidates will occasionally be expected to travel within Australia and overseas.

 

IMPORTANT: Ideally the applicant will be resident in Australia with full working rights and willing to relocate to Brisbane. The Company may consider sponsoring a suitably qualified and experienced applicant via the Australian Skilled Migration working visa process.

 

In return the Company offers a competitive salary and generous overtime in addition to statutory benefits. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and relative experience.
